Boston Marathon

So the Boston Marathon was today and I am officially PUMPED. I watched most of the live feed early this morning and am itching to get outside and run like I'm Shalane Flanagan or something.
I would LOVE to run Boston someday... I mean, I've never even run a full marathon... but a girl can dream, right?

My best half time is an average page of 10:22 min/miles. To even qualify for Boston a woman my age needs a 3:35 marathon time which is averages out to 8:20 min/mile.... soooo I only need to drop 2 minutes from my mile time per 13 miles... and then double it! No biggie...

They do say that with every pound you lose you drop a second from your mile time so I could just drop 120 pounds...

But in all honesty - I'm so encouraged by how strong these ladies are. The women's winner, Rita Jeptoo, is 32 and has a kid - AMAZING!

It might be easy to say that I'm too old or that it's too late for me to be at a place where I could even consider going for a BQ - but there are tons of ladies out there getting it done who have overcome way bigger obstacles than anything in my life.

So who knows, maybe in a few years, I can look back at this post and be able to say that I put the time in, I put the effort in, and I too did it, I ran the Boston Marathon!

**big sigh**
